Get To Know Me. :)

Hi everyone. Since this is my first blog post I will tell you a little bit about myself. :) First of all, my name is Jessica. I'm a certified makeup artist from Northern California. I'm still learning a LOT about makeup even though I have a certificate.  My workshop was only 40 hours so that really isn't a lot of time to learn much. I'm still trying to educate myself with other makeup classes I can take and also practicing as much as I can. I hope to one day be a makeup artist in Hollywood. Also, I have two young children so you guys will only be seeing new blogs when they are gone or late at night. It's hard doing new looks and getting good pictures when you have little ones to take care of. Haha But I'll try to be active and post new looks as much as I can. :) Well, I think that's about all I need to say for now. Lol Please leave me comments below introducing yourselves and I'll be sure to say hi. :) Also, if you need any advice I can try and answer that as well as I can too. Nice meeting you all and I hope you enjoy my blog. 😘

Want Tips On How You Can Start Out In The Business?

Below are some tips for you beginning makeup artists that want some experience in the field.

1.) Sign-up to volunteer for http:// www.lookgoodfeelbetter.com
2.) Look into volunteering at other places such as a women's shelters.
3.) Practice practice practice!  You won't get anywhere if you don't practice your art. Take time to do makeup for all of the women in your family and have some photos taken of your work. Also, get a social networking site to post your work on.
4.) Promote yourself. Leave business cards at local businesses, high schools, malls, etc. Be sure to add all of your sites and an email for future clients to contact you.
5.) Post ads on Craigslist.  But please be very careful when doing so. Also respond to ads that are looking for a makeup artist or someone that needs a crew for a short film. (Makeup artists are a MUST)

I've used a lot of these tips and I'm still at the beginning like you guys. Please wait patiently and post pictures of your work on all of your sites. Your clientele will begin to build up as long as you keep busy with these tips.

Good luck! Please leave comments below if you need to know anything else and I'll be happy to answer them. :)
